Night Classes Information

Night Classes in North Kerry College

We offer a variety of Adult Education courses, both hobby and professional, in the evening throughout the school calendar year. Courses run from the end of September to the middle of May on both Monday and Wednesday evenings between 7pm and 9.30 pm.

Our courses fall under three different categories; Self-financing, BTEI and Community Education.

Self-Financing Classes

  • Courses are usually between 6-8 weeks in duration
  • The majority of courses are hobby courses, though some may be certified
  • Cost is approximately 100 Euro

 

BTEI (Back to Education Initiative) Courses

  • The Back to Education Initiative under Kerry Education and Training Board provides part time Further Education Courses leading to QQI certification (Level 3 to 5) for young people and adults.
  • Entry on to a BTEI course is through application at one of our enrolment evenings in either September or January
  • BTEI courses are FREE to people who do not have a Leaving Cert or equivalent, are on a social welfare payment or have a medical card.

 

Community Education

  • Our Community Education programme aims to provide locally based education programmes that are responsive to the local community's needs.
  • These classes usually run for 6 weeks 2hours/week
  • They are subsidised classes and generally cost a maximum of 30 Euro
